Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how PDF Edit (the “App”) handles information. We designed the App so that your documents stay on your device, and we collect only what is needed to run essential features such as subscriptions and advertising. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
1) What We Collect
1.1 Essential service data
To support features like subscriptions, analytics, and ads, limited device and app event data may be processed, such as:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), IP address, operating system version, app version
- In-app interaction events (e.g., ad impressions/clicks, subscription status changes)
1.2 What we don’t collect
- We do not collect your name, phone number, or similar personal identifiers.
- We do not upload, view, or store the content of your PDFs on our servers.
2) Files & On-Device Processing
PDF viewing and editing are processed locally on your device. Your documents remain under your control.
- Access you control: On Android (Google Play), the App uses the system file picker or scoped storage to open files you select. On iOS (App Store), the App uses iOS file picker access to items you choose.
- No background scanning: The App does not scan or index your storage without your action.
- Temporary data: Any temporary files created during editing are removed after the task finishes or when the App is closed.
3) Ads & Personalization
The App may show ads provided by third-party networks (e.g., Google AdMob). These partners may use device identifiers and app interaction data to measure performance and, where allowed, personalize ads.
- You can manage ad personalization in your device settings (e.g., reset or limit the Advertising ID).
- If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see non-personalized ads.
4) Purchases & Subscriptions
- Store billing only: Purchases are processed by the platform you use—Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS. We do not receive or store your full payment details.
- Restore purchases: You can restore your active subscriptions via the respective store account on the same platform.
5) Permissions
The App requests only the permissions required to function:
- File access: To open, edit, and save PDFs that you select.
- Network access: To retrieve ads, validate purchases, check updates, and provide optional online services.
Permission use is limited to the purposes described above.
6) Data Security
- Where data is transmitted (e.g., to the stores or ad providers), it uses encrypted channels.
- We minimize data collection and keep processing on-device wherever possible.
- You can revoke permissions in your system settings; some features may then become unavailable.
7) Third-Party Services
The App may integrate the following categories of services:
- Advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob)
- In-app purchase & subscription billing (Google Play Billing, Apple In-App Purchases)
- Crash/analytics tools (where applicable)
These services operate under their own privacy policies.
8) Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required by local law. We do not knowingly collect data from such users. If you believe a child is using the App and provided information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9) Your Choices
- Manage advertising preferences in your device settings.
- Control file access permissions at any time via system settings.
- Remove the App to stop all data collection and processing by the App on your device.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect feature updates or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in-app.
